What role does (presence or lack of) communication play in the Prisoner’s Dilemma? Would communication between “prisoners” lead to positive outcome(s)? Why or why not? Explain.
The Prisoner's Dilemma is extensively studied and involves 2 individuals who are given certain cooperative or competitive options.
When an individual is asked for cooperative decisions and to communicate but is strictly not allowed to communicate with their partner because, if they are allowed then it may lead to manipulation of their answer and If they are true, they both can confess anyway but if they decide as a team then they would quickly agree on their mutually best strategy. So in this case, they are allowed to transfer their decisions but not communicate with each other which increases the risk and unpredictability.
