"We live with chronic illnesses in a system built to treat acute illnesses." What does this mean to you? What are your thoughts on this?
"We live with chronic illnesses in a system built to treat acute illnesses” as we cannot cure most chronic diseases, we can just manage them or delay them. For acute diseases we have vaccines as well as cures but most of the chronic illnesses are related to our genes and lifestyle. With advancing age there is expression of the genes leading to disease and since they have a genetic basis we can only provide a symptomatic relief rather than a cure.
