Education in the Caribbean continues to face obstacles at structural and micro levels because Caribbean people are not homogeneous. There are different cultures and people speak different languages and dialects. Different types of education systems exist in these islands; English-, French-, Spanish-, and Dutch hence it is very difficult to collaborate and develop a national system. Deteriorating values, a declining work ethic, a lack of creativity and innovativeness, and an increasing propensity for imported consumerism are some of the problems affecting the Caribbean.
