How can adolescent ego-centrism influence development?

How can adolescent ego-centrism influence development?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

The adolescent ego-centrism influences development as the children during this phase become more conscious of their being; they think that everyone is observing them and this is known as imaginary audience. The other aspect of an adolescent ego-centrism is personal fable i.e. felling that no one understands them and they are unique. Due to this the adolescents may weave stories filled with fantasy around them to create a world that is different from reality.
