Do you believe there is such a thing as sexual addiction? Why or why not?

I do believe that sexual addiction exists. All types of addictions involve behaviours directed continuously towards the pleasure seeking object. Some people might become addicted to alcohol, others to gambling and some even to social media. In this case, it is the sexual act itself, which becomes highly desirable to the individual. What these addictions have in common is a compulsive behaviour aimed towards engaging with a particular stimulus, which can be anything. Thus in my view, being addicted to sex is much like being addicted to anything and it is definitely a phenomenon.
