Answer #1

Dracula may be seen as a reflection of views on appropriate gender roles at the end of the 19th century encouraging an overall chaste and modest lifestyle, glorifying resistance of temptation while advising against the inevitable temptation to “taste the forbidden fruit”. Thus the concept of “evil” incorporated with aggressive sexual behaviors and sexual temptations very much plays into the evil and appalling behaviors of Dracula. Emphasis has been constantly put on the importance of using caution and awareness in case of controversial topics like; sex and homosexuality.
