Distinguish between validity and reliability.
Validity is an indicator of of accuracy that is, it indicates the extent to which the test is measuring what it claims to measure. For instance, a test assessing emotional intelligence should only measure those factors that are relevant and related to emotional intelligence, and not any other general intelligence factors.
On the other hand, reliability is an indicator of consistency that is, it indicates the extent to which different items of the test produce the same or at least similar results for a particular individual. There are several types of reliability but for an example, if the emotional intelligence test is taken today and taken 2 months later by the same individual, the scores should be similar in both occasions.
