After reading the assigned Voices of Freedom documents this week, answer the following: What are the main threats to and boundaries of freedom during the Revolution?

The main threats to and boundaries of freedom were the gender,race and class discrimination during the Revolution.

• Women were not given any freedom and priveleges because they were assumed to be naturally incapable.They were considered as not capable of taking decisions of their own,hence, were subjugated under men. They were denied right to vote and right to inheritance of property.
• Slaves or blacks were considered as beasts of burdens and hence,were denied of any sort of freedom. They were considered fit only for servitude.
• White men were provided with equal opportunities but not equality of conditions.This means they had opportunities to attain the ascribed level of economy ,and those who attained or had that level of economy enjoyed all the priveleges and rights of freedom.This gave rise to class conflict.
