Stereotype threat is a belief that one is being evaluated or judged by the other person negatively. It may be race, gender, caste skin colour.. people constantly feel threatened of being evaulated negatively. Being judgemenatl or reasonable would help in avoiding the effect, eg, for a school going person why skin colour would matter in academics or performance etc. Keeping list of positive/advantages about which stereotype threat is felt eg: About caste, religion,etc. In earlier days, when the Britishers were ruling India, Indians were having seperate compartment or seating place in trains. Where as compartments where britishers used to sit were very modern, posh ones.
