Answer #1

According to Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory, there are actually three parts to the personality: the id, the ego and the superego.

So, id is the basically the personality component which is made up of unconscious psychic energy which works so that to satisfy the basic urges, needs, and even the desires. The id basically operates on the basis of pleasure principle, which demands immediate gratification of needs.

The ego is the basically the psychological component of the personality which is represented by our own conscious decision-making process.

The superego is the one social component of our personality and conscience . Our behavior is determined by the interaction of these three components. The superego is the one of the most ethical component of the personality which provides the moral standards according to which the ego operates.
