There are three dimensions to the temperament. These are negative behaviour , self regulation and inhibition.

It is believed that the temperament of the person remains stable over the period of years as he grows up from the child to adult. But recent researches have shown that there many factors that affect the temperament of the person and play a major role in changing it over time.

These factors are : Gender , stress , relationships with friends and siblings , Parental style etc.
