How could you use both positive and negative reinforcement to get a child to do his math home work?

Answer #1

Both positive and negative reinforcement aim to increase a certain behavior.

Positive Reinforcement: Tell the child that when he completes the math homework, you will reward him by letting him watch his favorite cartoon on Television. Here, you are rewarding the child for a desired behavior.

Negative Reinforcement: Telling the child that if he completes the match homework, then he doesn't have to go to the grocery store to get sugar. Here the grocery store is an aversive stimuli to the child, which he doesn't like to go to.

Assuming two vectors are both located somewhere on the xy-plane, how could you use the right-hand rule to determine whether their cross product would point in the positive z-direction (above the plane) or the negative z-direction (below the plane)? Do not make reference to which quadrant these vectors are in, since they could be in the same quadrant or each could be in any quadrant. Consider instead the order of the vectors in the cross product.
