Bedwetting is involuntary urination in individuals aged 5 and above. It is a concern that tends to get resolved as children get older and gain more toilet control through toilet training. It can have an impact on a person’s emotional, social and behavioural well-being. A significant cause of bed-wetting can be some major pediatric sleep disorders, such as Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome (OSAS) or Periodic Limb Movement Disorder (PLMD). Children with frequent bedwetting must be examined comprehensively for any occurrence of sleep disorders in either of the categories. The co-morbidity of the two has been seen quite prevalent in children.
