Human sexuality and sexual problems are studied under sex psychology. Psychology of sex works on restoring sexual functioning or enhancing sexual pleasure. The study involves developing psychological treatments for many problems people face, like erectile dysfunction, lack of sexual drive, vaginisums or dyspareunia and premature ejaculation etc. Later life sex and love in intimate relationships are also a focus of study. Psychotherapy has proven to be a great treatment option in many conditions and sex therapy is a specialization of psychotherapy which helps a person or couple dealing with sexual issues.

This field also deals with studying sex offenders, finding reason behind their behaviour and developing effective therapies for them.
