Dependent t-test is also known as paired sample t-test. It is done to determine the difference between two sets of means. Paired sample t-test is often used in repeated measures design, where, the same sample is measured twice, usually pre and post an intervention or treatment.

Independent sample t-test is used to measure the difference of means between two samples. it is most commonly used in the experimental design, when, there are two groups, the experimental group and the control group.

ANOVA is used to measure the difference in means among groups. ANOVA is used when there are three or more groups.
