Michel's research showed that situation have strong effect on people's behaviour and people's responses to situations depend on their thoughts about the likely consequenses of their behaviour.

Michel Originally believed that human behaviour was mostly a function of situation, but later he has recognised the importance relatively permanent cognitive affective units. Neverthless michel theory continues to recognise the apparent inconsistency of some behaviour.
