What is the difference between inner psychophysics and outer psychophysics? Which was Fechner forced to focus on? Why?

Answer #1

Answer:
Inner psychophysics is define as It is link between the mind or brain & the percept. It consist mind-body problem.

Outer psychophysics define as the connection between the percept and stimuli.
It consist distal stimulus and proximal stimulus.
Outer psychophysics can be looked as a combination of forward problem & inverse problems.

This is a forward problem & it is explained by the physics rules. While proximal stimulus percept is an inverse problem & it consist perceptual inferences.
An effort to mandate the direct union between the tangible intensity of sensory stimulants and the intensity of the corresponding cognitive experience.
Gustav Fechner proposed & explained the concept of outer psychophysics. Fechner gave more importance to the inner psychophysics because it consist mind and body problem and its connection.

Many cells in the body have a cell membrane whose inner and outer surfaces carry opposite charges, just like the plates of a parallel-plate capacitor. Suppose a typical cell membrane has a thickness of 8.5×10−9 m , and its inner and outer surfaces carry charge densities of -6.3×10−4 C/m2 and +6.3×10−4 C/m2 , respectively. In addition, assume that the material in the cell membrane has a dielectric constant of 5.5. 1. Find the direction of the electric field within the...

A nonconducting spherical shell, with an inner radius of 7.1 cm and an outer radius of 11.4 cm, has charge spread nonuniformly through its volume between its inner and outer surfaces. The volume charge density ρ is the charge per unit volume, with the unit coulomb per cubic meter. For this shell ρ = b/r, where r is the distance in meters from the center of the shell and b = 3.8 μC/m2. What is the net charge in the...
