Regarding Kohlberg’s theory of Moral reasoning, explain in detail why teenagers are placed in the "Conventional Morality" stage of moral reasoning.

According to Kohlberg’s theory of moral reasoning, teens are placed in the conventional stage because in this stage, children would be learning about the authority as well as rules. In this stage, children would be able to learn that there are certain norms that would be deciding if the manner in which a person behaved is correct or incorrect. Also, ‘‘this is the stage where the children learn that the require to obey these conventions put forward by the society.

During this stage, children wouldn’t know the difference between legal as well as moral principles, here, they learn that whatever is correct has been handed down by the authorities and what is cincorrect is disobeying authorities.

While moving to the next stage of moral development, I.e. the post conventional stage, the individuals learn what is the difference between correct and incorrect. Also, they develop abstract thinking and decision making abilities.
