Do you think it will be a good idea for employers to use
personality tests with good validity such as HPI for their
selection process? Or do you think personality tests should not be
part of the selection process regardless which personality test is
being used?
I do believe it is a good idea for employers to use personality tests as a part of their selection process. This is because personality tests ask several objective questions that reveal dimensions of a prospective candidate’s attributes that cannot always be eleicited by a face to face interview. It would be misleading to use only personality tests for the selection process however, they would beneficial as a supplement tool in making the final selection judgement. Personality tests would also be helpful during the initial screening process as those individuals whose traits show a sharp contrast to the required job role can be immediately dismissed.
