You have just been hired as a research assistant at the New York State Police. Your team is working on fear of crime and public perception of safety in New York State. Please write a brief questionnaire (at least 7 questions) that you would administer to residents of New York State to gather data on their fear of crime and their understanding of safety in the state of New York.

Think about the types of questions you might want to ask to gather information on the above topics; would open-ended questions work or would close-ended questions be better? Maybe a mix of question types would be best?

On a Likert-type scale of 5 , where 1(extremely worried) to 5 (not at all worried)

I )Rate your fear of being molested at a shopping mall

2) Rate your fear of being robbed on the road

3) Rate your fear of being hit and injured while crossing the road

4) Rate your fear of being shot dead in a shoot out

5) Rate your fear of having your home broken into while you are away

6) Rate your fear of being abused in a public place

7) Rate your fear of your child being molested in the school

The Likert-type scale,would be better as responses are easy to quantify and get computated. Here strict 'yes' or 'no' is not followed therefore degree of agreement or disagreement can be known.
