Answer #1

Correct answer is c).

Descartes argues that there are two components to the universe They are physical matter & spirit.

Rene Descartes's philosophical views are collectively called Cartesianism. He was one of the main thinkers to support mind body dualism.

According to him everything in the universe is composed of the 2 components . First is Spirit, comprising the reality of mind through thinking. Second is Physical Matter. All physical substance and phenomenon is a result of external contact causing the matter to be in motion and action. The two components don't share each other's characteristics.Matter has no internal power of action.
