Homan has devised five propositions
for defining human behavior. They are as follows:
- Success
proposition: We always tend to perform actions that are
rewarded.
- Stimulus proposition:
If a stimulus is connected to a rewarded action, then a
similar stimuli will make the action likely to repeat.
- Value proposition:
An action is will happen more likely if more valuable outcome is
assocaited with it.
- Deprivation-satiation
proposition: A reward become less valuable if it is
received repeatedly without enough time in between.
- Frustration-aggression
proposition: When an action does not receive an expected
reward it causes anger and aggressive behavior.
