Abnormal in mental health refers to a branch of psychology that deals with treating individuals with unusual patterns of behavior, thought and emotions. Basically, we all fall on a continuum of normal-abnormal. If some individuals are away from the so-called normal or usual behavioral pattern, they are referred to as abnormal. The behaviors which are referred here correspond to generally, clinical context. Such individual experience impairments in their day to day living and are not able to have fruitful behavioral patterns and are thus called as belonging to deviant population. Then attempts are made to include them in normal population through providing them various treatments and therapies.
