Here is why I say so;
A recent research shows that students who settask-based goals such as taking a number of practice tests usually outperform students who set performance -based (outcome)goals.
A goal where the results won't be realised for months would have less urgency .secondly, individuals get overconfident of their abilities hence they feel they are working to meet their long term goal without realising they are falling short short. Lastly, I would say that individuals tend to view the relationship between effort and performance as inherently random ,which makes performance or any other goal other than task goals less effective.(complete explanation for the selected answer).
