The consciousness is relate to the self awareness. the survival value of consciousness is depend on both the self awareness and the intenligence. In the state of consciousness the person ability to identify and target who may be the competition or dangerous or friend.

survival value of consciousness is based on that how would you identify the good and bad things in your surroundings. being aware of environment, yourself within the environment, and how other might view you in the environment would survival greatly.
