Referent power is the degree to which a person is able to make other people do something.

Because of referent power other people wants to be like you. It inspire people to do something, they identify with you. In other words, you are the reference model which make other people to do something. The other people admire you, in some way they find you attractive and they carry your thinking or behaviour. In referent power, the other people are able to present herself or himself in other way in certain level of behaviour or respect towards that person.
