How important is language in creating a nation? Does our earlier reading on invented tradition provide any insights?
Language plays a very important role in creating a nation as it is important in communication especially in reading, writing and speaking. Language connects people of a community and gives then an Identity. It is through language only that we voice our concern about the issues of our society and country. Our earlier reading on invented tradition provides insights many of the traditions which we think of as very ancient in their origins were not in fact sanctioned by long usage over the centuries. These traditions were invented comparatively recently and transmitted from one person to another through the use of the language.
