Question 4: Like every state, Texas is made up of cities, towns and communities. However, it is also a state and must balance local independence (letting local folks make decisions) with state law. Where do you think that balance should be- with local governments (Mayors and City Councils) or with state government (Governor and the Legislature)? Do you think it should vary by policy area?
I believe that Power shouldn't be centralised, it must be diversified. Decentralisation of power helps communities develop. There will be certain areas that a community is weak and it should develop, but it varies from community to community. So local independence helps communities develop in the areas of interest.
And complete independence to local government is also not good. It breaks the unity among the community and peoope. My opinion stands at 40% power for the state government and 60% power for local governments.
