A basic disagreement in the animal rights debate is between a humanist versus an anti-humanist position. Explain.
Humanist - They see animal rights from compassionate point of view, hence they support restrictive laws on animal experiment, hence they are also against slaughter in the name of god such as Halal meat. They believe in understanding emotions such as fear, pain and sufferings of animals and to relate to their sufferings to us. They oppose torture and cruelty done to animals
Antihumanist - They have similar views but equivalent. It is said that they are less dramatic , they more stress upon animal welfare such as to take good care of animals. They believe that animal testing proves good for the humans but not for the animals and hence they are against it. They do not justify slavery of animals
