How would you explain the relationship between one's culture and one's identity? What does it mean/look like to have a “Christian” identity?

Culture and identity are social constructs that are strongly linked. Culture encompasses and structures everything in a social context. An individual, as an essential element of society, is naturally impacted by his or her culture. This occurs in case of individual and group identity, as identity is forged in relation to the cultural framework. The study of culture and identity involves an analysis of several important issues. These include the relationship of the individual to the wider group, the degree of freedom that individuals have in their day to day life, and the type and degree of self consciousness individuals have in respect of the way they behave.
