Answer #1

Teachers play a central role in deciding upon assessment techniques and grades, and it is therefore their responsibility to ensure that the use of assessment and data is ethical. When this consideration is kept in mind, teachers can increase the chances that they are assessing the skills and knowledge that they intend to. It can also promote the novel ways of using the data, some of which may be more efficient and effective than the current methods teachers are using. When students feel that they are being assessed fairly, they will be more likely to engage in active learning and be able to obtain more insight into the assessment practices.
