Explain the elements of treason:

Three key elements are necessary for an offense to constitute treason: (1)an obligation of allegiance to the legal order, (2)intent to violate the obligation and (3)action to violate that obligation.

Treason is a breach of allegiance and of the faithful support a citizen owes to the sovereignty within which he lives.

Analyze treason’s evidentiary requirements:

As evidentiary requirements of treason, it should be clear that a person is levying War against the country, or adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort. No person shall be convicted of treason unless on the testimony of two witnesses to the same overt act, or on confession in open court.
