Criteria reference test measures skill and knowledge whereas nirm reference test measures target acheived or completed.

In norm reference test the scoring is based on Rankin and other students such as. Giving medal of gold, bronze and silver. Whereas is criterion based test scoring is done on percentage points

Norm reference test is usually conducted on a large group of people whereas criteria reference test on smaller group.

Norm reference test are conducted on state or national whereas criteria reference test on individual or on small group.

We can see that wherever there is huge mob involved such as taking any entrance exam test such as GRE, IELTS etc where people appear in large no.and scoring is done on no.of questions solved.
