Roper v. Simmons .
Compare the majority opinion and the minority opinion. Which do you agree with and why.
Supreme court of united states gave a landmark decision in Roper v.simmons,543 U.S 551 (2005).
According to the decision, it is unconstitutional to impose the death sentence for the crime while below 18 years age. The 5-4 decision dismissed the Stanford v. Kentucky in which the court had to stop the termination of offender above the age of 16 and change the statutes in 25 states.
I agree with the opinion of the majority because individuals under age 18 are not so mature to know their full responsibility and entity as a human being.
Hence, the capital sentence is not ethical and moral as well as constitutional.
