1. Augustus' accomplishments include; writing the strict laws to govern the way people behaved in public. Setting up a fire, and the brigade and police force. The building of the first public library in Rome. Making of the Roman citizenship available to people in provinces, bringing peace back to Rome, showing respect to Senate, ordering a census, paying governor’s large salary and giving provincial governors long terms of office.

2. Augustus maintained the institutions of the Republic and its various offices, but robbed them of their power and authority, especially when they challenged his. By maintaining the institutions of the Republic, Augustus created according to many historians refer to it as a monarchy disguised as a republic.
