What are the impacts of social media use on adolescent socioemotional development? Do you view the impacts as mostly positive or mostly negative?

I think for all the 12-14 year olds, we should ban the use of social media as this is the time when teh children are developing changes in themselves and things just start to evolve. If they spend more time on distractions, it will reflect on their outlook to life and the way in which they perceive all things. It is also not a healthy thing to be engaged and not study. I firmly believe that everything has a correct time and purpose and for that we should know when the right time comes. The children need to learn the morals and virtues of empathy, sympathy, compassion, kindness, affection and love before they can step in teh world where the motive is deceit and hate.
