What is Kant's "humility" according to Langton? What are Kant's things in themselves according to Langton?
Langton says that Kant’s preposition that we do not know things in themselves but only of relations to each other. This he calls not an idealism but only Kant’s epistemic humility. Kant introduced the term Noumenon in order to explain this concept of things in themselves by stating that human knowledge or human minds cannot perceive everything from a thing because there are elements independent of the physical objects that we sense. Human beings do not have any knowledge of these intrinsic properties of things that they sense through their senses.
