Schizophrenia: Would examine the interaction of the genetic background of the individual, the person's thought processes and their actions, and consider environmental factors like socioeconomic status, ethnicity, gender, etc.
Depression: Would examine the interaction of the functioning of neurotransmitters (specially norepinephrine and serotonin), the person's thought processes/actions (use behavior therapy, try a humanistic approach), and again consider the sociocultural perspective and environmental factor as described.
Cancer: Interaction of family history of cancer; less emphasis on the psychological perspective except for counselling, and definitely bexamine environmental factors (smoking and lung cancer, for instance)
