Describe changes in religious affiliation and practice in America over the last 50 years
American constitution kept religion away from politics and this intention reflected throughout the American history in the past although puritans gained momentum for a while. As the society progressed and individual rights gained momentum, religions started losing momentum. This would mean that both science and political control over the society made religions more insignificant. Most of the scientific advancements proved most of the religious teachings wrong and the individual rights in terms of women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, civil rights success etc. led America to a new frontier where religion became more symbolic and ritualistic.
