These pathways involve the retinal ganglion cells.

The magnocellular pathway consists of the regions of the brain which contain cells governing the movement,locomotion and arrival of objects with study of their velocities with movement of eyes and its rotation about an axis.Further the details of the mechanisms involved in regulating and deciphering the movements of obejcts is also analysed.The response is for a short duration of time.

Parvocellular pathway--these cells are also present in brain which help in the analysis of color,contrast and image resolution and analysis of various objects.The response time is more with image color and contrast analysis.The pathway helps in analyzing the shape of objects in layer four (IV) neuron cells after receiving stimulus from retinal ganglion cells and lateral geniculate nucleus to this region accordingly.
