A. Decode?
B. Write?
C. Hear?
Comprehending when reading means to understand what is written or grasping the meaning of the written words. To understand the meanings of the written the child must have ability to recognize the words that is the understanding of alphabets and related pronunciations. This is called decoding. If the child lacks this ability the alphabets and words would appear to them as meaningless marks. Also, this will cause them to dislike reading. Hence, the first question that you should ask is ;"Can the child Decode"
