1. Geratology can be defined as the study of different aspects of ageing It is a multidimensional approach . It involves the following dimensions such as cognitive , psychological , social, cultural, and biological .It also includes application of various policies and programmes in the research field .It is a dynamic process and has evolved .On the other hand Geriatrics is of the medical sciences . It is mainly focused on the care and treatment of the aged persons. It emphasizes on the diseases which are already present in adults .It is not multidisciplinary like the field of Gerontology .Geriatrics aims at promoting health in aged adults by preventing and curing diseases and disabilities .
