Informed consent—define it and give an example.
2. Social validity—define it and give an example
Informed consent is a very important document, especially in the medical field where the patient agrees to the treatment processes knowing everything including the risks involved. For example, before a surgery, a surgeon explains to the patient about the anesthetic process, surgery process and the risk involved.
Social validity refers to the acceptance and importance about the treatment goals, procedures and the expected outcome among the people. Some cultures have different opinion about receiving treatment because they might believe that certain processes or ingredients in the medicine are not accepted by their cultures.
