The main differences between severe and non severe mental disorder are:
Severe mental disorders are mental disorders that caused functional impairment in individual and they persist for very long time periods. Due to them individual became unable to perform daily tasks.
For their treatment proper diagnosis and medication is must.
Example of severe mental disorders are:

  • Schizophrenia
  • Depression
  • Bipolar disorders
  • Panic disorder
  • OCD
  • PDD, etc.

Non severe mental caused changing of mood and behavior. They may persist for short time duration like few days or weeks.
Example of non severe mental disorder are:

  • Autistic disorders
  • OSPDD
  • Personality disorders, etc.
