The difference between the National Day of Prayer which is an annual day of observance that is held on the first Thursday of May, designated by the United States Congress, when people "to turn to God in prayer and meditation’, as they are asked to do so by the state.

However, the Danbury Baptists letter was written President Thomas Jefferson separated the state i.e. country from the Church i.e. promoted the building a wall of separation between church and State.
