Do you think children in wealthy families would be smarter than children in poor families?

No, it is not necessary that the children in wealthy families would be smarter than children in the poor families.

Why or why not?

Reason: Children born in poor families (such as lower middle class & below families), are raised in conditions where they have to face more difficulties in their lives, their social experience is also more profound when they have to do a lot to counter their poverty. They have also to work in different situations and conditions. In overall, their experience is far greater than those of rich children. These experiences teaches them a lot. Also as per Bandura's Social learning theory, they learn more by interacting with society.

So, definitely IQ or brain development will be more in case of poor families children.
