For persuading them, it is relevant to perform a literature review. A literature reviews must provide followig goals:

  • Convince the reader that the thesis will make an original contribution to the area being investigated
  • Show the significance of the research questions being considered.
  • Review the different methodological approaches that researchers use in your field to investigate questions.
