An experience I have had in interacting/relating with people whose backgrounds are different than my own includes; mine giving up of the stereotypes, for example, I had a Mexican friend and because of the stereotype prevalent I thought she would be good at just cooking and not studies, but after interacting with her I realized that she was very good in Statistics and I learned a lot from her for my courses in the school. This event changed my perspective and I realized that one should not believe in stereotypes about any community.

2. A challenge I have faced and the steps I took to overcome it include; lack of communication with my friend who was a Mexican not knowing English. I communicated with her through another friend who knew Spanish.
