Since sociology is group psychology the different sociological work on emotions explores how emotions arise from social interaction and motivating a subsequent social action. This micro-level work is the center of sociological social psychology. It helps in bridging psychological research to emotions. Most of this work falls into three themes. Emotional socialization and its regulation, especially among adults in occupational settings are important in this field. This research is based on the concept of emotional labor introduced by Hochschild (1983).
