Mending Wall is a classic poem by Robert Frost which portrays the two mind-sets, one open the other closed. The narrator of the poem and his neighbour have a common wall separating them. Once, they both were repairing the wall together. The narrator asks his neighbour that why they should have a wall when they don’t have any cattle to keep away or anything else that would intrude their privacy. The neighbour replies that good fences keep good neighbours. So the narrator seems to be a modern man with open heart in accepting others while the neighbour seems to be old fashioned and adamant person who do not want to trust anyone or let anyone come closer to them.
